    Multi-Location Management Challenges

    Togninis Hair is a popular family-run salon with two locations in Brisbane QLD. Speaking to owners Kristian and Tracey Tognini, they explain some of the challenges they were facing in keeping up with the day-to-day management across two busy locations.

     

    Before switching to Phorest, Togninis’ previous software was not cloud-based, meaning they had to be on premises in each location to:

    “I guess, I’m kind of the glue that holds it together,” says Salon Manager Tracey Tognini, “I do a lot of back-end work. I do a lot of the rostering, all the ordering. I don’t think I could do my job without Phorest, to be really honest. I think it has become the other office person that you have never had to employ.”

     

    Having remote access to the tools in Phorest has been a gamechanger for Tracey. She spoke on some of the features that have made the biggest difference to her daily salon management.

     

    “Just to give you an idea, I am just back from holidays, four weeks at the beach, and I could just simply open up my computer, I did ordering while I was on holidays, I adjusted rosters, viewed the day. Even on a day-to-day basis, you inevitably get someone will ring in sick and you can flip your computer open at home or even do it on your phone, and make changes to the salon’s running. It just simplifies everything.”

    “I can’t tell you how many times a client will phone here and we don’t have anything available, so we can the other site and just simply make a booking for them as well. It’s just a great function, in management, to be able to keep your business really in order.”

    As the salon owner, Kristian Tognini needs to have a top-level view of how each of his salons are performing, as well as the ability to dig into those numbers and find the right insights to help him make the right decisions.     “Utilisation shows us how much time our staff is actually spending on clients. Rebooking is another massive one, and then also the retention of the staff and their clients is huge.”
