Alex Bélisle-Springer
Few introverts can claim to have made a name for themselves by facilitating over 300 podcast conversations, but Alex Bélisle-Springer (he/they) is not your typical introvert. Public speaker, award-winning content writer, producer and resident host of the PhorestFM podcast, Alex wears many hats. As the Global Content Education Lead at Phorest, he sets the tone and standard for educational content across the company’s channels, nurtures collaborations with industry experts, and drives community engagement through elearning courses and digital masterclasses.
His contributions to the salon community over the past nine years have led to online and in-person speaking opportunities (International Beauty Show NY, Salon Owners Summit, The Fellowship for British Hairdressing, Eufora Education, Creative Head Salon Smart, Salon Today, Modern Salon, the Thrive Sessions) while also making him a sought-after content collaborator (Beauty Launchpad, WellSpa 360 Magazine, SalonEVO, Salon Today, Professional Beauty UK, Thrive Global and Authority Magazine).

Over the past week, in a short survey, we asked Phorest salons what their priorities were for 2025. “GROWTH” was the number one response globally. Growth of team, profitability, sales, brand, loyalty, clientele, new locations, online presence, marketing. Streamlining and improving communication, systems, operations also came up quite a bit.
This is PhorestFM, brought to you by Phorest Salon Software.
And flooded with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for being back behind the mic, I’d like to kickstart this ninth season of the show by thanking all of the guests who contributed to this anthology, who’ve generously shared their growing pains and wisdom, their fracture points, and innovative ideas, methods and perspectives. Thank you.
For those who don’t know me yet, I’m your host, Alex Belisle-Springer, and I’m so happy you’re here.
Designed to motivate, uplift and inspire, the PhorestFM podcast has always championed the industry and those who are a part of it. After rerunning many important conversations, reaching 300 episodes and doing a lot of shadow work last year, we decided it was time to for the podcast to once more, grow with you.
What that means is that things are going to be looking a little different in Season 9. For one, we’re committing to releasing episodes every second week to raise the bar on what we output. You can expect the insightful interviews you love, but we’ll also be bringing you case studies, episodes with special guest co-hosts, live content and bonus drops sourced directly from the community.
I’ll speak for myself personally here — my hope is that the real, relatable, and raw stories we share, the unfiltered reality of life on the salon floor, the conversations and solutions we discuss to the issues and struggles the industry faces when it comes to growth will stand as a beacon of support through the good and tough times and a tool for reflection you can come to back to again and again (… did I say again?) I want us to find a balance between looking outside of our own ways to dream, and looking inward to ignite whatever spark needs to be lit to make those dreams happen..
So, if you consider yourself someone who enjoys learning — regardless of your role in the industry — there’s going to be something for you in this year’s Stories from the Salon Floor.
Because more than software, we’re a true partner helping business owners and professionals like you reach their full potential and as we continue to amplify community voices all over the globe… well together, we grow.
Season starts next week, so until then, don’t forget to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
